The Department of International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Brawijaya holds a 3 in 1 program that presents practitioners who are also alumni of the Faculty of Law of the University of Brawijaya, namely Rudi Bachtiar, SH., LL.M together with his colleague Merari Sabati, SH., LL.M, who is an ARMA LAW Corporate Lawyer . The practitioners’ visit was carried out for a week, during 11-15 November 2019 at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya.
The first activity, Monday 11 November 2019, was welcoming guests in the International Law Room and continued with the International Trade Law class with the theme “International Dispute Settlement” which was attended by 25 participants in Room 4.1 on the 4th floor of the FHUB C building. The material given is related to the importance of dispute resolution in international trade law, things that need to be considered in international dispute resolution, especially in the field of trade, and some examples of international trade cases and methods of resolution.
Tuesday, November 12, 2019, Rudi Bachtiar, SH., LL.M and Merari Sabati, SH., LL.M presented material related to International Contract Drafting which was attended by 100 participants from the International contract Drafting class, and FHUB academics. The guest lecture was held in the 6th floor of Auditorium Building A. The event was continued with the Coaching Clinic which was held in the Meeting Room 1 on the 6th floor of Building A which was a sharing session and question and answer session between guest presenters and students of BILSTUF (Brawijaya International Law Student Forum).
On the third day, Wednesday November 13th, 2019, a Guest Lecture was held with the theme of Indonesia Investment Road Map Update delivered by Merari Sabati, SH., LL.M. material presented relating to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Indonesia, the form of PMA, the Business Licensing Process in Investment, and applicable FDI regulations.
The next day’s activity, Thursday, November 14, 2019, in Meeting Room 1 Building A, together with the two practitioners, an international case discussion was held related to cases of forest fires in Indonesia that affected Malaysia and Singapore, followed by International Law students and guided by Fransiska Susanto, SH., LL.M. on the continuation, a guest lecture on the theme of International Treaties Law held in Auditorium Building A, FHUB. The main material presented was related to the implementation of the ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement, the implementation of the principles in the agreement, and the practice of foreign investment in Indonesia.
This 3 in 1 program ends on Friday, November 15, 2019. The event closed with a guest lecture on International Economic Law with material related to Bilateral Investment Treaties and Foreign Investment in Indonesia which was held at Auditorium Building A. The event was attended by 100 participants and closed with a question and answer session and a group photo. (AZL)
