Undergraduate students of the State Administration Law concentration and the State Administration Law Department of the Faculty of Law Brawijaya University held a guest lecture on the theme “The function of the Ombudsman as the Public Service Superintendent related to Flight Delay Flight” in the auditorium of the faculty. The event held on Tuesday, March 24th, 2015 presented Dr. Agus Widiyarta, S. Sos, M.Sc., who is Chief Representative of the Ombudsman of East Java Province.
In the presentation of the material, he delivered a glimpse of the history formation of the Ombudsman in Indonesia. He also showed that the presence of the Ombudsman in relation to the supervision of the public service is as an external supervisor. Public scrutiny need to be supervised as to avoid errors / irregularities, including corruption in governance, to improve any error / deviation to fit with what has been planned and in accordance with the legislation, and to establish good governance and a prosperous society as intended by the state . Related to the flight by PT. Lion Air who suffer from delays, the Ombudsman has conducted an investigation and submit suggestions for improvements to the Ministry of Transportation.
This event was closed by offering acoustic music from the students and delivering the token of appreciation.
