As Concurrent Elections are Upfront, Student Association of Constitutional Law (FORMATERA) visits KPUD Malang

Monday, May 11, 2015, Student Association of Constitutional Law (FORMATERA) held an academic visitation to the Electional Commission  (KPUD) Kabupaten Malang and are welcomed directly by the Chairman of KPUD Malang, Mr. Santoko along with his commissioner and head of section. In this visitation, KPUD Malang describes his institution’s readiness to face the first concurrent elections. FORMATERA is a student group who concentrates in  the field of Constitutional Law.

The Concurrent Election is a consequence of  Law  No. 1 Year 2015 Law About the Establishment of Perppu 1 Year 2014 regarding the Election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors. The Implementation of the first concurrent election will be conducted next December raises many questions about the readiness of the Election Commission (KPUD) to face this simultaneous election.

The head of  FORMATERA, Jordan Muhammad who is a 3rd year student, express about his anxiety about the preparation of the implementation of the first ever concurrent Elections in the history of Indonesia, as a student who has a role as an agent of change, students are expected to help the government in the socialization of this concurrent elections. Various Activities in the form of lectures field visit was conducted to gain knowledge about the Electional Institution as well as to establish a relationship between students and State Institutions. “FORMATERA this year is focused to establish cooperation with other institutions and increase the repertoire of science” said Jordan.
